Identify & Verify
A Benefits Specialist will work with you to identify and verify your benefits situation in relationship to your goals. Benefits may include Social Security Disability Insurance benefits, Supplemental Security Income, Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP/food stamps, energy assistance, and housing assistance.
Analyze, Assist & Assess
The specialist analyzes all the information and meets with you to review a summary of all the information in a written report you can take with you. Our goal is for you to have a working understanding of how your benefits can help you reach your goals. Benefit Counseling can help you manage how changes impact your benefits and remain informed about your choices and what’s ahead.

Tim Kirk oversees KCARC’s oversees KCARC’s Benefits Counseling and holds Community Partner Work Incentive Counselor Certification through Virginia Commonwealth University. CPWIC certification recognizes the highest level of initial and ongoing training for Benefits Counseling. KCARC offers Benefits Counseling in partnership with Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation Services.
