Direct Support – A Realistic Job Preview

Positon:  Direct Support Professional (DSP) Full or Part-Time

Description:  Must have valid driver’s license with excellent driving record and minimum of 1 year driving experience.  Responsible for assistance, training and supervision of all residents of the home.  He/She is also responsible for documentation as its relates to assistance, training, supervision, and operation of the household.

Position:  Production Worker

Description:  Operate pneumatic and manual hammers, saws, hoist, CNC, planer, will build pallets and crates, operate the dip tank, pin routers, drills, lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly or 100 lbs. with assistance.  Experience with woodworking.  Ability to operate woodworking machinery, ability to read a tape measure to 1/16”, familiar with woodworking tools such as hammers, drills, screwdrivers, etc.  Ability to read.  Prefer GED or High School Diploma.

Position:  Administrative Assistant

Description:  Implement and maintain all components of the CCC clerical system.  Must be very organized, posses excellent communication and computer skills, and able to mulit-task, IE: phones, filing, attendance logs, computer entry, etc…

Educational Requirements:  Must have excellent computer skills.  High School Diploma or equivalent.

Position:  Group Home Manager

Description:  Supervise Assistant Mangers and Direct Support Professional Staff, development and implement of Behavior Plans (GH), development and implementation of IPP (GH), scheduling, billing (Waiver), file incident reports, write and implement plans of correction.  Data entry.  Monitor programming for residents.  Develop and oversee the implementation, review and revision of individual programming for residents while maintaining compliance with Federal/State regulations.  All other duties deemed necessary by supervisor.

Educational Requirements:  BA/BS in Human Services or related field and one year experience with MR/DD preferred.  High School Diploma/GED required.  Good typing skills, data analysis, computer skills with basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Position:  Teacher Assistant Part-Time

Description:  Assist classroom teacher in maintaining a developmentally appropriate and language rich classroom environment.  Keep classroom teacher, the Director of Children’s Services and all other children’s services staff informed of any issues, problems or concerns that arise.  Provide close supervision of children at all times by keeping all children within sight and sound at all times and by ensuring attendance clipboard is present and accurate at all times.  Assist with food program duties.  Provide needed leadership and classroom management in classroom during teacher’s absence .

Educational Requirements:  H.S. diploma or equivalent required.  Must possess a CDA or must being working toward a CDA after first year of employment.  Must possess a strong desire to work with children.  Lifting required.
