Paths to Quality
We are proud to announce that the Civitan Children’s Center recently passed the Paths to Quality inspection with the highest rating – Level 4. The state surveyor complimented the Civitan Center for the appearance of our classrooms and the quality of the interactions of staff with the children. The Civitan Children’s Center is an inclusive child care and early child development center. We serve children with and without special needs in the same classrooms. The goal of the early childhood development program at KCARC’s Civitan Children’s Center is success.
In order to improve the quality of child care, the State of Indiana initiated the Paths to Quality rating system. Individual licensed child care centers, like the Civitan Center, are inspected and given a rating based on meeting certain criteria. The ratings range from 1 to 4, with level 4 being the highest. Those centers striving for a level 4 rating must be both state licensed and nationally accredited. In addition, the center must go through a rigorous two day inspection to ensure its compliance with other standards. That is in addition to a separate state licensure survey and the national accreditation survey. For more information about openings at the Civitan Children’s Center, call (812) 886-4882
